Why Does My Dishwasher Smell?
Blocked or Dirty Filter
The filter traps food debris. If not cleaned regularly it becomes a source of odour. Remove and clean the filter weekly.
Food Debris in the Sump
Food particles accumulate in the sump area at the bottom of the machine. Pull out the lower basket and clean around the drain area with a cloth.
Blocked Drain Hose
A partially blocked drain hose allows dirty water to sit in the base. If cleaning the filter does not resolve the smell, the drain hose may need clearing.
Mould and Limescale
Run a hot 65°C cycle empty with a dishwasher cleaner tablet to kill mould and remove limescale buildup from the interior.
Door Seal
Mould can grow in the door seal fold. Clean with a damp cloth and a small amount of bleach solution.
