Blocked Spray Arm Holes
The most common cause. Limescale and food debris block the small holes in the spray arm, reducing the water jet pressure that drives rotation. Remove the spray arm and soak in descaler, then clear each hole with a cocktail stick.
Item Blocking the Spray Arm
Long utensils or oversized items in the cutlery basket can block the spray arm from rotating. Rearrange before running another cycle.
Spray Arm Clip or Bearing Worn
The central clip that holds the spray arm and allows it to rotate can wear. Replacement spray arms are inexpensive: £20–£60 including fitting.
Circulation Pump Failure
If water pressure throughout the machine is low, the spray arms will rotate slowly or not at all. Pump replacement: £90–£160.
